Anonymous, the climate index is based on stability of temperatures throughout the year and water precipitation, what you're referring to is most likely tied to pollution, which is stated as moderate in this case. I believe it was just a misinterpretation on your part. Our climate here in Goiânia is considered fairly good. But despite being one of Brazil's best cities in terms of urban vegetation and parks, the pollution is still a major issue, specially because of what you mentioned.

P.S.: wildfires occur naturally in Savannas and the Cerrado is one, this plays major roles in the biodiversity regulation (i.e. some plants' seeds only germinate after a fire breaks their dormant state). The problem is that the reoccurring and constant deforestation and fragmentation of the environment for pastures or whatnot is aggravating the intensity of these fires and making difficult for some species (animals in most cases) to take refuge. Also criminal fires also happen to be caused by the so called farmers.

Climate is wrongly written for Goiania, GO, Brazil as you haven't been informed that the dry season (autumn and especially winter - July to September) here usually come with forest fires and fire that farmers put on pastures near the city. So, during winter, especially, air quality is very low. very dry and very low (toxic).
