I have been living in Astana for 19 years and witness qualitative changes in the city life. One can easily find all components of a good life here in Astana. So we have fairly good medical services (though prices in private and national facilities vary greatly), established cultural life (theaters, museums, gardens etc.), developed sports infrastructure, established public transportation (in comparison to other cities/towns in the country) etc.
It is possible to find any kind of activities - music schools/tutors, yoga, pottery, hockey, I would say whatever you can imagine. There is a wide variety of dining options, from world wide networks to national cuisines, as well as coffee shops, bars etc. I noticed increase in number of vegetarian restaurants recently.
Yet another positive feature is that people are tolerant to all ethnicities/nations and official religious groups. It is quite safe to live in Astana.
One aspect, which still has space to develop, is environment. Coal heating of houses must be changed to gas heating; garbage sorting is a week point as well.
The city is diverse in general, and very energetic, so these features make it a great place to live.

I've moved to Nur-Sultan (Astana) almost 10 years ago.
Nur-Sultan is a capital with all attributes - infrastructure, urban life, rush and nightlife with a lot of astonishing places!
In Nur-Sultan you can find everything are looking for, from the noisy and busy city-centre to loft and comfortable place for family dinner.

Astana is a city with high job opportunities that attracts more and more people every year to live there. As the capital of Kazakhstan, the entire economic and capitalist movement in the country is concentrated here.
Personally, I think that Astana is not a cheap city but not too expensive. Having many inhabitants and a lot of competition, you can always find competitive prices. The most expensive thing is surely the house. The food is moderately priced and transport and communications would be the most affordable.
I have been living in Astana 12 years and thank God I have never had to worry about my safety or have suffered any kind of altercation. Moreover, I sincerely believe that it is one of the safest big cities in the world and where you have the feeling that there is always someone watching over public order.
Astana is a great city with endless offers for leisure and for all tastes: cultural programs, museums, theaters, exhibitions, restaurants, natural parks, sports centers, indoor water parks, cinemas, concert halls, circuses, shops, fast food etc ...
If something differentiates Astana from most of the world's great cities, it's its climate. Being the northernmost city in the world, the winter temperatures change the urban landscape and the life of its inhabitants.
Astana is an amazing megalopolis to live and whoever wants to come and stay here, will find an ideal and urban place to develop your activities and projects. You can live with dignity, do business and prosper successfully. Astana is a place that changes, improves and evolves. A city always alive and awake that does not like to waste time.

I've moved to Nur-Sultan (Astana) almost 20 years ago. Also, due to development of my career, I partly lived in Almaty for several years. But my every comeback to town showed me the rapid blooming of former Astana. Personally, I changed my apartments three times, and every new apartment was in a district, which had not been on a map before. Developing infrastructure makes common life more comfortable in town.
