Srirangam is a Temple City which is visited by thousands of pilgrims.Municipal sanitation and hygiene are absolutely despicable and the municipality is not doing anything( unable to do anything as it does not have adequate workforce) Open gutters, huge garbage dumps in disciplined traffic characterise Srirangam. There are no adequate public conveniences. Portable loo could be installed at street corners, but they should be cleaned morning and evening, or otherwise they will also become another eyesore.Similar situation prevails in all other Temple Cities.

There are marriage halls in every street corner adding to the noise pollution of the city.
