Pollution in Popayan, Colombia

I grew up in La County 1958 to 1999. The air in Popayán is so heavily polluted, near the terminal, and downtown, I stay indoors, get light headed, can feel it in my chest. People wear masks. Popayán is small, there are only two main roads, cars, trucks and buses accelerate quickly from stopped position, to get to their destination, creating an excessive amount of exhaust. I tell the locals to move from here, they are damaging their health. The people here are very relaxed, friendly and polite.
