I live here 4 years (20014-till now) and can say, that in Las Palmas has too much smog from cars, plus the smell of fuel oil from Port La Luz, plus dust from Sahara with high air humidity of the island, all this give a big problem with the quality of air in the city. The treatment facilities in the Canary Islands are not of the best quality, so there are constant problems with the quality of water on the beaches. The Canary Islands have the highest incidence of asthma among children in Spain and Europe.
