We have excellent buildings and high technology. If you have an accident or injury they can treat you fairly well. For chronic diseases a lot of money can be spent with little result because first of all the diet here is not ideal and the type of care is based on drugs and how much money can be made off drugs so alternative methods of treatment are overlooked and not developed. The doctors have a very narrow level of knowledge and tests- they can dispense drugs. They are good at stabilizing from accidents but not good at treating chronic diseases. No or very few alternative medical ideas or treatments are used so drugs from the pharmaceutical industry are heavily used. The expenses for care are very high but to some extent are charged to insurance companies who just raise the rates (or lower coverage) to compensate. If you get into a car crash you may fare better than if you get cancer.
