Just returned from Vietnam and spent two weeks in Vung Tau. Took cheap river boat $8 from HCMC. Two hours down river and was nice trip. Rented motorbike and had a blast riding around the city and countryside. Beach on east side was great for swimming, but south side was all for fishing boats. Great ride along the beach. Lots of expats, but mostly Russian speaking. E had a really good time. Highly recommend to anyone

Spent 2years in Vung Tau with the U.S. Army between Dec 1967 - March 1970. It was a very small town with many bars. They had some beautiful beaches. That was a very long time ago. Have thought about going back for a visit some day.Remember a lot of good times.
