I was in Siedlce and the region some 20 times in the last 4-5 years. Also stayed overnight. I visited with people in all ages and not always very "Polish-local-looking". I Never encountered any violence or a sense of danger. I am quite shocked to read some of the comments and can't make up where it comes from.

in Warsaw you have no problem with crime. The crime starts when you drive into the Poviat a area where Siedlce, Lukow, and Sokołów is located and other nearby villages, this is because the government of these places has no money for you people and the young people have no money to move out to bigger safe cities like Warsaw, Gdańsk, poznan etc

Here in Malmö Sweden we have a lot of poles from Siedlce, I have been here once to do a documentary on this city that is going to launch in 2020. It’s very poor, children are neglected and the high crime status is unbelievable, almost something that we can compare to 3rd world countries such as Columbia, Brazil, Mexico. You don’t see as much happening in the daylight but take a drive past 11 at night and you will find that it’s not at all safe. The only thing I can say and warn people that are from abroad. Buy some pepper spray at least when walking in the day time. It’s not going to help you in extreme cases but it’s something to start with. Now going a little bit off topic, the food is amazing. And polish people have a very very high standard of food safety, you may not believe me but in Sweden and Uk you are 3x more likely to be food poisoned than in Poland.

Now coming back to the previous topic. When we were in a camera van with our crew from Sweden and England. We spotted a small group of youths in a nearby flat estate. We asked our translator to ask them if we can interview them, later on we found that one of the lads (14 years old) had his hand in his pocket were a small hand pistol was located. The film crew decided to cut short as although they are kids, we found that they are very unpredictable.

Please look out for a documentary on this city it is going to be out in March 2020. By the title of “ The Gates to Siedlce “
