I’m visiting Puebla this year with the expectation of retiring there soon. I have lots of friends who live there - some Mexican and some ex-pats, so hope that I fall in love with the area.

I lived in Puebla for 3 months several years ago and attended Puebla Institute of Language. It was an experience well worth traveling there. I fell in love with the city and now would like to retire there in the next few years. I would like to find out how to get a small, one person apartment either inside the city or just outside.

I have spent several weeks on two occasions in Puebla. I had no safety problems whatsoever. I have been told of incidents where police ask for money, but I hear it is rare and only happens if you wind up in a situation where they are involved. They won't just stop you for no reason. While I did not come across any criminals, I did meet amazing local people with great culture and a strong value system. My friends in Puebla all have studied at numerous universities internationally, in multiple languages. I even know a man in Puebla who writes academic literature in Hebrew. Bottom line, Puebla is an amazing city with friendly, inviting, interesting people. It does not scare me at all. Do yourself a favor and go there.

I live for over 20 year there now and feel safe but as with all big citys in the world there are part where you shut not go day or night but in the center and the toerist parts there are seldom problems.
and if there are 80% of the time it is criminals who come from mexico city

Puebla is probably the safest city I`ve ever visited. I walk alone at night, the police is really helpful...

Most cities in the US and Canada are dangerous compared to Puebla.
