There are some areas i would avoid to go to. Some of them are for example the city center, Flotmyr, Bleikmyr and Røssabø. Those areas usually the place of teenagers doing dumb things and drug addicts. One time i was on a bus stop in Bleikmyr till a man starting running towards me with something in his hands. I dind't see much of what he was holding but i was guessing it was a machete because i saw something sharp. Luckily i got away with a abonded bike just laying at the side of the road.

Pretty safe in my opinion, lived here about 20 years now. During the 2000s Haugesund struggled in a finacial situation so alot of people turned to selling narcotics and robbing gas stations. And the crime has just been on a rise since then, the city hasnt really changed either, still extremely boring. Just try not to give the wrong person the wrong look and you will be safe.

Haugesund is overall a very safe place, but the city seems to have a drug problem, and at night time teenagers often go around and "goof" around, and elder people also usually get drunk and start fighting. You really dont know what to expect.

Locals of this town seem aggressive and turbulent at night. Natives, especially teenagers and even adults tend to get drunk and take drugs at night and behave wrongly and pick fights. Racism is also present. Just stay vigilent and avoid going out at night and you,re very safe.
