Crime in Davao, Philippines

I admit though that city is boring, but for me it is the most peaceful and quiet metropolitan city I can ever live and I am grateful to be born here. I am happy with all the developments happening in the city, although late than most cities up north but at least it's catching up. There are times in my mind, I would talk to myself and say that "I'm embarrassed to be a Filipino, but I'm proud to be Davaoeño".

The majority of the contributors of polls like this are Duterte FANATICS they brigade polls like this to dupe people into believing that the Duterte leadership is effective. This is all for political propaganda. Davao was ranked 4 in the country in the number of murder and homicide cases back in 2016. Polls/Surveys like this started popping out when he ran for president.

All of the police stations in Davao are threatened by none other that their own mayors (past and present) to never put the real numbers in the books. It won't show up in the system so their numbers will retain its good standing. Why do you think that most robbers/snatchers/scammers and many other criminals that show up in other the parts of the country are of Mindanaoan origin?

I am from Davao City. This is a very safe place to be. Been here all my life.

I live here in Davao City since 2012, all I can say we aren't afraid going out in a very late night.

I've been looking for another country to retire in a few years and I was comparing Davao to where I live now, which is a small city in central Canada. According to the crime indexes, ours here is over twice as high as Davao. We used to have a nice relaxed quiet city years ago, but not anymore.
But looking at Davao, I'm thinking I may have found my future destiny. With a retirement income of $1900 (CDN) per month, it should be no problem surviving there.
Crime will happen anywhere you go, just some places are more crazy than others. (like the states).

Look at the recent comments. It's election time and the paid trolls are trying their best to bring down Sara Duterte and Davao City. I am a traveler and I have traveled across different cities and provinces in the Philippines and Davao City is definitely the safest cities I have ever been to. Friendly police are everywhere and cctvs are everywhere.

Hey anon @march 23, 2021 comment, you really have no idea that it was due to that someone that Davao gained its title as the safest city in the past? Don't open your mouth if you don't even have a clue on the history of Davao. You are probably some kind of youngster or student who thinks they are too edgy against that someone.
