I agree with both of you. Being half sardinian, I totally understand the immigrant problem and it's just such a shame. The crime has also increased a worryingly amount since lockdown.

I arrived in 2013. Tranquillo nice, friendly.
Now 2021. Invaded by immigrants.
Centre is more Pakistan and Arabs than locals.
Italians let it happen, big mistake.

I visited Cagliari the first time in 2002 and it was a stunning place, safe and dynamic. I went back to visit it again in 2019 and I found the city has definitely worsened. Illegal immigration has spread even in the city centre and it's full of arabs and africans who annoy and rob people (mostly tourists). It's a shame.
