correction, I meant utilities... still, what I said applies, and yes everything else is correct
Marc on Jun 28, 2021:
some of the prices are incorrect or do not apply for the majority of the city, specifically housing. There are some areas and buildings in which the prices for monthly utilities is nearly 5,500 rubles, but in most other locations for a one bedroom apartment the total utilities including 100mbit internet and american/european tv stations, is around 2,000. For example I have a one bedroom apartment around 450 square feet, and the price for apartment + all services is 20,000+2,000. Food average, cost for transport, etc are correct.
The main issue with the above is assuming center location and very large apartment (two or more rooms), vs the more typical situation of a studio or one bedroom apartment (tho still comfortable sized) and located just on the edge of the center. (walking to the opera house for me is around 30 minutes if I take it slow, 22 minutes if I am in a hurry)
My girlfriend has a one bedroom in the center, for 25,000+2,000 a month rent/utilties. and it it literaly 5 minute stroll from the opera house

The prices that I just gave you got the decimal points in the wrong place....please disregard all answers....The price of bread on the review showed 300.00....It should have been 3.00....Three dollars...not three hundreds....sorry

Pavel is a kremlin bot 100%. These are people who write paid comments in support of Putin everywhere. Average salary in each city is
enough only for rent, utilities and food(12000 rub to be health). After all major expenses(rent, utilities, food at supermarket, monthly pass, internet, mobile) you will have 1000-2000 rub(15-30$), exept Moscow (the rest in Moscow is 70-120$)

No more than 3% of the people in Russia really live in poverty, there are no starving people, the food is of absolutely normal quality and tasty, crime is falling, life expectancy is increasing, most people live quite well. Utilities for retirees and low incomes are partially or fully paid by the state. Most people do not encounter corruption in everyday life, although they believe that it is very high.
Free education and medicine, numerous benefits for large families, the poor and retirees are also present.
Now living in Russia is much better than in the late 1990s. That is why people support Putin.
The oligarchs of the 1990s and pro-Western agitators are actively promoting against Putin and Russia among the youth. They are trying to insinuate that it was under Putin that our country "began to live so badly." Firstly, it’s not bad to live in Russia, and secondly, Russia's problems come from the 1990s.
And with democracy, we are fine. Most of the adequate people, whose brains are not washed with propaganda, understand that all indignations at the lack of freedom in Russia are utter bullshit. People say what they want; write what they want; think what they want and vote for who they want.

Prices shown are very close reflection of what I have paid.
Thank you for providing this much valued information.

The price level is not the whole life. At the moment, the occupying authorities have brought brown coal for heating, which does not burn in the kilns, and emit toxic smoke into the atmosphere.
Food low quality. Vegetable oil with gasoline! Butter is falsified with margarine. Sausage soaked with carcinogen creosote! Vegetables for feeding animals. This is a disaster area!
