#Iryna, with the resident visa, you are obligated to reside in Luxembourg, so you can't commute from other countries.

#Palak Bathla, Luxembourg has a citizenship based job priority system, which means that an employer must first prefer a luxembourgish citizen, if it's not possible to find one for the specific position, the possition can be offered to an eu citizen and only if it's not possible to find one, the job can be offered to a non-eu citizen, so basically it's really hard for non eu-citizens to find jobs in Luxembourg. The alternatives to that are: coming as an expat (your company sponsor you and they do all the paperwork) or come here as a student in which case you can obtain the graduate visa that allows you to find jobs with the same priority than luxembourgish citizens.

Would 4,000 Euro a month be sufficient for a family of two

Hi. I am non-EU citizen. If I will get Visa and job in Luxembourg, would I be able to rent a place in France or Germany? Like commuting every day to work to Luxembourg, pay tax to Luxembourg, but have a rent contract for apartment in another EU country?

Hello
I will be moving to Luxembourg to study. Is 2500 Euro per month sufficient for the family of 2(me and my wife) to live normally?
Thanks

4k€ (nett) in Luxembourg, with at least 1.6k€ for rental, is ok, just not to expect to save a lot. If you shop for groceries and services across the border, in Germany, it will be a comfortable life, until partner finds a job. Luxembourg is quite expensive in terms of lodging, and quite hard to find an apartment, since a lot of homeowners do not want children or pets. Also, try to find an apartment without agency intermediary, because that rises costs on arrival for one rent plus VAT. There are groups on Facebook and a special website that does not include agencies.
When you see the first apartment you like, take it right there, because competition for finding a place is big and nobody will wait for you to decide.

Is 3.300 eur net salary enough for family of 3 (me, wife and 17 month son) to live normaly? thanks
#yana nebolsina on May 24, 2018 :
Hello it depends if you will be alone or if you are with a family. If alone USD42k should be ok, knowing that there are lot of tax allowance for "low" income, so USD 42k gross should be close to your net (10% tax maybe?). For accommodation, you can reach me as I am in the real estate: 00352 621193245

Hello! I will be moving to Luxembourg for work soon. Is $42K gross salary per year sufficient to live comfortably? Also, does anyone have a good recommendation for which area to live in and any tips for house/apartment rental process?

Thanks!

As a student you will need to have minimum 1.078,54 EUR according to visa requirements.
Unfortunately, with this you can't really go out as it's really expensive.

3700 net is a good salary in Luxembourg and you can live comfortably. But it might be hard to find apartment because most owner require you to have a salary equal to 3 times rental price.

Hey there,

I might move to Luxembourg for studies, living in a dorm would cost me about 500€ a month. What would be considered a good income for a student that would cover my rent?
#Wizz on Mar 02, 2017 :
Is a salary of Euros 3,700 net enough for a single person to live comfortably in Luxembourg City?
#Pepter on Dec 17, 2016 :
to Aida

Nope, if you have to rent an appartment then 2.5 is almost nothing, keep in mind that prices are high there on food, on service even higher! So you will have to shop in Lidl's etc, no parties in downtown

Hey,
Is salary 2500€ gross enough to live in Luxembourg?

Hi,

I'm looking for a 1 room rent in Luxembourg, near the airport would be great.
- Any suggestions? Do you know any websites that rent?

Looking forward to hear from you.
#Vladislav Shchur on Jan 22, 2016 :
Hello friends,

Please advise what is considered to be a good income for a family of 3 in Luxembourg?

I am an SAP Software Engineer, thinking of relocating to this location with my wife and a 2 month old little daughter, considering a 4k (net) per month job offer. We will need to rent 2 bedrooms apartment, no car.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Regards,
Vladislav

I think salary above 3.5k (net) you could consider 'good'.
