@Jacques and @Max
Do remember that average and median is not the same.
Having said that, the median number is not bad.
Jacques on Jun 28, 2024:
@Max

The 4800 avg wage has been corrected for inflation, it's more like 5200 euro/mth now.

And that is netto, as taxes in Luxembourg are quite low.
Max on Jun 16, 2024:
The prices mentioned on this site about Luxembourg are correct, except for avg monthly salary, which is more around 4800 EUR.

is 4800 brutto or netto

I'd say that the average salary is not wrong, but do remind that average doesn't mean median.
Median after taxes is around 3K with meal vouchers = 3,2k

We live in a 3 bedroom in the city center, 2900 EUR rent + 185 utilities.

The prices mentioned on this site about Luxembourg are correct, except for avg monthly salary, which is more around 4800 EUR.

Quality of life is superb here, just like the southwest of Germany and west of the Netherlands where we also lived.
Anonymous on Jul 18, 2023:
Water is cheaper though, you can easily find 2 liters for 0,20 EUR
Anonymous on Jul 18, 2023:
An appartment 3 bedrooms in city center is about 3700 EUR. Prices reflected in this website got right the general price considering the older contracts, but wrong the current price.

I am currently living in Spain with my family,we are planning to relocate to luxembourg,please is there any support groups,or organization i can join for support and information.thanks
LuxTrust on Jan 15, 2023:
With a good education and good foreign language skills especially in German/Luxembourgish and French you can get a good middle class. The most expensive thing is the rent (>30€ per Squaremeter and more). Cost of living is upscale. Negative is bad infrastructure and partly catastrophic conditions in the authorities. You have to put up with a lot of traffic jams and very long travel times. Home office is not welcome at all. Basically, I would advise against coming to Luxembourg because here just slowly goes down because of Corona / economic crisis.
Esther on Sep 24, 2022:

i didn't consider the cost of a private school. In Luxembourg City there are english based public schools with no tuition fees.
Anny on Nov 29, 2020:
Hi, you wrote "For a family of three or four with no one else working, the situation changes:
3500 x 0.75 (there are tax benefits for children and non working partner, it might be underestimated)= 2625
-1500 for an apartment (including utilities): 1125
-800 for groceries and related items (in Germany)= 325
-200 for other general expenses= 125 (disposable income)"....

How...if school for one child is 1.260 eur?
Alex on Oct 08, 2020:
