Perhaps the person from February 2019 was looking at rentals outside of Corvallis. That would make sense as Lebanon and Albany are very bad areas to live in. Philomath is better than the other two but not within walking distance to Corvallis. Sweet Home is about 45 minutes east and it is very backwards there. Very bad neighborhoods and even though it is beautiful and surrounded by trees, the people who live out there are pretty scary gun toting, white racists. There is a reason why Albany, Lebanon and Sweet Home offer cheap rentals! Corvallis has OSU, but you really do not want to stray too far out into the rest of the county.

The comment from anonymous in Feb of 2019 is incorrect, you are lucky to find anything decent below $750 for a one bedroom. One is very lucky if they can get a one bedroom for $750 as that is the what one of my friends pays for her somewhat decent place, without air conditioning that she has to share with three other people. And air conditioning is definitely needed during the summer here. Rents are overpriced here for this tiny city. If you have a dog or pet, then it is even more difficult to find something here. The conditions that rentals are kept in is pretty bad and if you want to get into a newer place then you will need to pay a lot more.
