Hey guys, what will you say about a salary of 1850 eur/month in Cork? is it barely enough or good enough to live normal?
StevieG on Apr 26, 2019:
They have discount shops in the city center like Txmax and H&M but if you need cheaper yet there are dollar/bargain stores as well.

Does anyone know the average costs of bedding, linens, and basic kitchenware? I'm working on a budget for my term abroad. Thanks!

Cork is soon more expensive to live in than Dublin - and there are less job opportunities in Cork than Dublin.
Ireland really needs to start building more apartments quicker, if they want to keep up with the growth.

I live here 3 months and I still dont have any job, its sad.
If u want job (cleaner, kitchen porter....basic job) u have to have experience min 2 years. WTF??
People here is polite and nice...but...irish accent ..woow,...crazy. Its hard to understand sometimes for me.
But everything is so close...its small city. I like it.
I think there is not many opportunities to work...

Apples I usually by apple either as a bag of 8 small/medium (100-140g) size or tray of 6 medium (180-200g) large both of which weigh these are available in lidi, aldi and less often on offer in tesco, Dunne's and super value. I never pay more then 49c/kg

Potatoes I usually buy 1.5kg bags for 49c except when local potatoes are in season when larger bags are sometimes available much cheaper and occasionally out of season when only 5 or 7.5kg bags are reasonably priced at up to 49c/kg

Onions
Usually available in lidi, aldi and less often on offer in tesco, Dunne's and super value as either 39 or 49c for 1kg nets or preferably nets of 3 very large "Spanish" (local term for a mild onion above 6/7cm diameter) onions for 3 so 1.2/1.6kg for 49c

Fast food meal nearest equivalent to MC Donald's I'd eat is either cheese and onion pie with chip for €1.50, kebabs are €4-6 but less equivalent.
