Hi VATSAG,

I would say that it's a good offer, so I would give it a try :)

If your wife is planning to find a job, I would recommend starting to look through offers asap.

When it comes to finding an apartment that would allow a dog and 3 cats - I would say that it's the most difficult part of your relocation. It's not that common that people allow pets, especially dogs and cats. So I would also recommend start looking for an apartment asap.

Important thing to note is that you need to be ready to pay a deposit once you sign a lease contract - usually 3 months rent + 1 current month, so be ready to spend more or less 50k dkk.

Hey VATSAG,

VATSAG on Dec 03, 2022:
Hey Guys

I've been offered relocation to Copenhagen on a role that pays me 65000 DKK monthly before taxes. Can any experts already living here guide me if this is decent pay for me to make this decision to move to Denmark?

I will be moving with my Wife. I do not have kids but I have a dog and 3 cats. I have no issues commuting to work from the outskirts but how easy/difficult it is to move with Pets? Especially with the homeowners giving their space for rent to tenants having pets in general

Thanks

As of october 10th 2022, the living cost in denmark has increased a bit. Please be aware that as a foreigner, traveling for work og study, you have to atleast earn 2000 - 2500 euroes, or 15.000 DKK - 18.000 DKK to have af decent living.
Denmark isn't cheap, not even for us living here.

My wife and I are both senior react developers working for the same company. We have a combined income of 75,000 kr per month. It's good to see that Denmark is a cheap place to live. We're moving in 6 months.

I have a job offer with a salary of 3,000 euros per month in Copenhagen.
It is just me and my wife.

Is it possible to live well on that salary?

Can foreigners rent a place ?

I've offered a work in Copenhagen with annual salary 800,000 DKK and I've a wife and one kid with 2 years old, so can you please advise the following:

1. what will be the percentage of tax deductions for expats and accordingly what will be my net monthly income?
2. what is the average of monthly rent for apartment with 2 bedroom in Copenhagen since my work is there.
3. what is the monthly cost of living (expenses, transportation, food, outing, ...etc) for family of 2 adults and one kid (2 yeas old)
4. what is the educational annual fees for reputable international schools in Copenhagen for a kid with 2 years old.
5. How much is expected to be saved from the net of monthly salary?
Larchi on Mar 23, 2021:
Shweta: For 2 people, 38000 DKK a month is more than enough. In the suburbs, within resonable commuting distance to Copenhagen, you can rent a modern 1 bedroom apartment for about 14-15000 a month bills included, 1000 DKK for transport a month, just remember that it is very expensive to move in, you will need to pay 3 months deposit and 1 month rent in the beginning plus most apartments come unfurnished.
Food for 2 people about 5000 DKK a month without restaurant visits. And how much you can save from the rest of your salary is entirely up to you.

if you choose not live in the city, with 38,000 DKK as much I know you can't save any money and you can only survive, if you not drink or smoke cigarettes and not go out to any restaurant for dinner. And if you lucky someone to help you to find you a place to live.
Shweta on Sep 20, 2020:
