We updated the prices from local supermarket for better data accuracy.

Food prices are wrong, also there is no such thing as a monthly pass for buses here. unless this website gets translated people won't fill it with accurate data.

Hi! Thanks for the helpful price information! I will be living in Paraguay for the next half year and my salary will only be around 500€ so now I feel I will definitely have to be very economical! I thought it would be cheaper than Europe.. :( Will be fun to explore Paraguay though

Can not find info on rentals in the Asuncion area or areas around there which might be for less rent. Also pet friendly. Will be in Paraguay in July 2015. Thanks.

I've been to Asuncion in 2013 and everything was way more expensive than what's listed here. I'm sure it's even more expensive now in 2015. I am from Asuncion, but have been living in the US for the past 10 years, and I am really shocked to see the rise in inflation rates compared to the US. I don't know how people make it to the end of the month on such low salaries. I would have to make at least GS.20,000,000+ a month to have a comparable lifestyle in Asuncion. Labor is cheap in Asuncion and Paraguay in general, but housing, groceries, utilities, clothing, and good schools are expensive.

Born and raced in Asunción, still living here, and I think the prices are very accurate.

I would like to add that even though rent seems very cheap, those that cost starting at 800.000 p/month are quite ugly places to live in. Nice and simple appartments are really hard to find, most of the time the previously mentioned number reffers to a single bedroom and bathroom in the back of some house in Asunción. There's also no "roommate" culture around here. Still: you can absolutely find something that will be higenic and spacy, it just takes a lot of searching.

And also, as you can see, minimug wage is not nearly enough! Other than this...Asunción offers a nice quality of living with the propper money and organizing.

Pretty Accurate! And, as you can see, not as cheap as people might think for many of these items!

Feel free to add your own finding of prices. I live in Asuncion and have changed any prices which I know and feel are inaccurate. I pay Gs100,000 for my gym in the centre which is good. My last one cost Gs75,000 (not so good). The max in the range listed is Gs208,000 which I have not seen anywhere. It probably depends on the area. Villa Mora might be much more expensive, which is typical for almost anything in the "new town" of Villa Mora, compared to the "old downtown."

The cappuccino price is also accurate, IMHO.

One price is miss is beef steak. Gs30,000 /kg for frying steak, ranging upto Gs60,000 /kg for fillet, which I see as incredibly cheap.

As with all 3rd world countries, they is a tremendous range in pricing. If you try to live like you are accustomed from a 1st world country, then you will pay more for almost everything.
