Islamabad's Crime rate has decreased a lot since 2022 due to illegal afghans getting kicked out.

I have been living in Islamabad for fourteen years now and grew up here. Until about ten years ago or slightly earlier I used to cycle outside without fear even at night but now things have changed for the worst really fast. Casual snatchings are already quite common but gangs have up their game by robbing hospitals and restaurants in the city with dozens of victims being robbed at once. There is no one in this city who doesn't know a victim of snatching in Islamabad.

Apart from i-10 and i-9 islamabad has no issues. Only i-10 is a dangerous hood to step in elsewhere nothing worrisome

Overall, Islamabad has seen a massive surge in crime rate in the last 3 years. Such incidents are not shown on the mainstream media as they think this would tarnish the capitals image but in my view strict and acute measures should be taken in order to bring this down. Islamabad Police is hella corrupt. Drugs are common in Sabzi Mandi(I-10), Pirwadhai, Tarnol, Koral areas. I-10, tramari, khannapul. tarnol have become ghettos with constant robberies , drug dealings, fights, gangs . If this goes on i am sad to declares but definitely islamabad will become Karachi.

People from rawalpindi have polluted over islamabad . Overall some areas have less crime some have way more
Hoods and ghettos like sabzi market I 10 , Tarnol and Chak shahzad bani gala side are just like the hoods of usa . Police is sleeping at it

I m living in abudhabi. On 28april 2022 my son car no AKK-021. Hunda civic was theft from banigala about 1130am from building parking. Complaint has made to police station Banigala. All the road cameras are not working. Islamabad is not safe place for living may be i bring back my son to Abudhabi. Businiss in islamabad is not safe

My cat was stolen from my house parking during day time from Banigala the mater was reported to police. Car no AKK-021 islamabad. The cat is still not recovered I m from uzbekistan. May i leave islamabad because there is no safety in islamabad

I have been living in Islamabad since 1992. The city has significantly changed during past 10 years. The crime rate is very high now days. Mobile theft, street crimes and car theft is very high. This city is no longer safe. The main problem is that crimes don't get reported due to poor system of police. FIR are not registered as police don't cooperate in such matters.

Been living in Islamabad since 2000.

Crime rates are generally low (compared to other cities in Pakistan and worldwide). Violent crimes are almost unheard of (except, maybe for enmity cases). Assault, murder, rape, etc. are quite low. Even when robberies happen, they seldom turn violent.
Car theft is relatively higher (compared to other crimes) but still low. Similarly, Bribery/Corruption is somewhat high and an issue but still lower compared to other cities within Pakistan. Property crimes can be an issue outside CDA sectors and regulated societies, particularly in rural Islamabad or when you are dealing with "open letters" (not registering to avoid taxation). Hate or race crimes are almost non-existent now (back in 2008-15, there were terrorism issues but that is completely gone now).

After safe city project islamabad has become very safe police is more vigilant and crimes are very low. I lived in islamabad from 2009 to 2014 it was very unpleasant years but after imran khan become PM i returned back from germany and become shocked to see the changes. I dont have to goto police for fir. Online police portal is 24h available. Karachi which stood at 6 position in crime index today gone to 103 position. Remarkably imporvements have been made for this peace crime free environment all credit goes to pakistan army and IMRAN KHAN GOVT.

In november 2019 four armed robber with two motorcycle without number plates fully cover face robbe me in pedestrian bike bridge but police not shows sincerity in means of FIR Islamabad,Pakistan.Then now in september 2020 the three thieves as par CCTV Footage stolen one brand new bike on my resident not caught still by police.Which shows the involvement at high level. Ive been living in ISB for 40 + years. It is no longer safe. Every day people being looted at gun point in markets and roads and streets and now homes aren’t safe either. Masked armed men break in and abuse assault and threaten while collecting valuables and cash. If home isn’t safe anymore, where does 1 go? Crimes going unreported. There was armed robbery at my friends house in F10 at 1 am and at my neigbhors house in F-8 at 9pm and I saw 1 small minute clip on capital tv about crime and nothing in newspapers and as usual investigation is on going. What safe city? Be safe and vigilant

Armed robberies are becoming so common in Islamabad. Last two months two home invasions and armed robberies in F-10 and this month two in F-8. Islamabad no longer a safe city. Do not be ignorant and take your security for granted. Police seems genuinely disinterested to curb this in any way. And people still falsely believing Islamabad a safe city.
