Paris is so nice everyone is so friendly and kind but many pickpockets addicts smoking in the metro station and sketchy people crime rate is definitely comparable with London or Barcelona
Rimdoi on Jan 25, 2024:
the one who made these statistics is out of mind! According to that list Paris is safer then Bangkok? Must be a joke Paris probably the worst city in Europe! You can walk nights in BKK without fear to get stabbed. Not in Paris, you might be dead walking alone.

London is quite bad I have to agree ( certainly with the knife crime ) it is probably int the top 5 most dangerous cities in Europe and probably top 20 in the world but it is just not comparable to Lyon marseille or paris, Paris is probably the worst city for drugs it's called crackland it's full of weed cocaine opium hwroin the list goes on and it's full of shootings murder gang violence burglary and I lived in le 8 eme with is one of the nicest areas in Paris and now I live in Peckham ( and if your from London you know that it's bad) but does compare to those three cities

Ok i will add a counter narrative. I have been living in paris for 5 years in the 18th! It is extremely peaceful. What most of the comments do not understand is that paris is like any other urban city in the west, second, paris is far more populous, it has 11 million in total.

Romanian gypsy thieves on the trains and atms Id say for one thing, then criminal gangs in Marceille, the crazy chunnel situation for trucks because of the encampments, EU government absolutely pathetic farce!
Anonymous on Feb 14, 2021:
But assault rate in France overall, not Paris one of the highest in EU, so my opinion is that Paris neither safe or dangerous, something in-between
Anonymous on Feb 14, 2021:
Eurostat, homicides (2015-2018) - 0.31, one of the lowest between EU capuital cities, and lower, than 2015 and earlier! French people are so self-critical

France is a corrupt country, and we must not forget that it is a colonial country and has arbitrary policies. From the beginning, France’s policy was to attract corrupt immigrants and saboteurs from its former colonies in exchange for the exclusion of the intellectual minorities whom France considers a cultural threat. The vast majority of the immigrants are populists, religious extremists, illiterate and even nomads, and they fled to France from dictatorship and tyranny in their countries of origin and brought with them a culture of barbarism and bloody to France which strengthened their tyranny by granting rights and privileges and gave for them an environment conducive to the practice of the most horrific forms of barbarism and criminality.

France chooses the type of immigrants very carefully and does not practice anything in vain. This is France’s policy, and this type of immigrant is what France wants. Most of the Arab and African immigrants living in France do not practice these crimes out of need for money, but only out of aggression, because France gives them aid and compensation and also gives them opportunities to learn, train, and improve their economic and social conditions. But these people do not care about searching for a better life. Rather, they only care about venting the tendency of aggression and barbarism, because when they fled their dictatorial countries, they found freedom, human rights, the sympathy of the French civil society and the tolerance of the French security services,And even illegal residents, the French state deliberately leaves them while it can easily pursue and arrest them and return them to their countries.

In the end, France is reaping now the consequences of its corruption.

Back in 2016 we had a new neighbour from France. They didn't speak Hungarian just French it was strange, but thought EU is about moving around so who care. Than in 2018 we had another two families with young children. They also, spoke no Hungarian, but again we though well maybe they are working for a French restaurant etc... Last year my good friend from another block (these are block of flats 10 floor building) had also 2 families and an elderly couple again French don't speak a world in Hungarian moved to their block.
We got really interested how on earth that 6 families all speak only French living in our blocks so we asked them in English. It is crazy, but all families who spoke English confirmed that they are Jewish and leaving because they are targeted by Arab gangs. Than we did a resource and it is true more than 400 families moved to Hungary and 100.000s moving to Israel. I am catholic, but far as i know Jewish people are really hard working and well educated. Many of our Nobel price winners are Jewish. I know some far right people in Hungary usually say that Jewish people not good because they are greedy, but end of the day it was maybe 10-12 years ago I seen skinheads in Hungary last time. The most strange thing is that French mainstream media say Jewish people leaving the country because of far right French people, but that not what families say here. I think we Hungarians learned that multiculturalism is pretty much equal self destruction and if people not saying the true reason why educated and hard working people leave their country i think that is the 23.59 in the countries history if we say 00.00 is the end. I am really sad about this. Anyway I think this will give a chance for Hungary to get wealthier if we got more clever people coming to this country so wealth and smart people leave France. Anyway I pray for France and the French people and hopefully the elite (politicians and media) will recognise that be poor and problematic is not the way forward to any country.

Paris is no longer Paris. It’s not safe at all and is not even a french city anymore. Luckily it’s not as bad as London. And hopefully never will.
Amanda on Jul 12, 2020:
Paris is not very safe as they say it is. Last year my phone got snatched in the metro and 2 weeks ago i’ve been assaulted inside the lift of my apartment building by a non-resident. 2 days ago, a friend of mine was attacked by 2 guys for his airpods, yesterday a young teen was attacked by a pervert that masturbated beside her. This place is not safe, especially for foreign students.

Paris is one of the dirtiest cities I've been in. Also, definitely most dangerous city in Europe. I felt much safer in Belgrade, where I could practically sleep in the park or drive a bike in the middle of the night and share a beer with perfect strangers.

@jean jacques - La libertè et les droits de l'homme are gonna be deleted by muslims.
France has always been the art, culture, freedom land, today it's just an unsafe place because of people who don't WANT to respect las and cultures. Middle Age is coming back.

@alshar2019
Your story is either made up or you are incredibly dumb.
Why would you have your passports, wallets with ALL your cash, credit card in one bag. It is common sense that passports go in the hotel safe. It’s been like that for 100 years, Especially since in Europe you are not required to carry identification on you. Credit card transaction are even done without ID. Second why are you carrying all your cash with you? And last but not least why would you leave your bag behind at the table you would never do that here in America either. Instead of elaborating on a foreign device to cook eggs and complain about it how about you use some common sense.
