#rogue on Oct 08, 2013 :
some of these prices MUST be in US.
#Sandy on Jun 25, 2013 :
The prices have gone up hugely
The inflation is quite high for groceries and household items as these are all imported.
Rentals in the North West are quite high,in a decent location 3 BHK (Semi Furnished)-- US$ 2000.00,actually NW is only safe place to live in Trinidad if you are an Expat.Rest of the country is not safe at all.
Working conditions are also not upto the mark,if one is joining a govt. company
then beware that everything is over influenced by politicians.
Schooling forkids is expensive --Internationl schools are like US $ 1200/month/child,govt schools are free however the environment again can be rough
Overall on scale of 1 - 10 (1 being best)---living in Trindad as an Expat --- Score 3.
Tax is 25%--killing
No public transport,No Taxi;s,Have to rent a car or buy one, just shared taxi's which are again not safe
#KOR on Feb 21, 2013 :
Rent prices are high. $900 per month for one bdrm and income is $624 per month. You would need 3 people for a one bdrm if utilities were included. Seems outrageous.
