I am traveling to Azerbaijan, Baku. How much would cost to stay in a hotel including meals?
#Fatima on Jul 07, 2014 :
Yasoda: you can have a good living in Azerbaijan with 1000-1500 Manat in Azerbaijan if you don't want to choose to live in the expensive district of city.
#Yasoda on Jun 06, 2014 :
Hi all,

I've been offered a job in Baku that's paying $3000US/Mth or about $2300 Manat...I would be bringing my hubby and 2 young daughters...do you think we could live a comfortable life on that income? And what about savings? I have to pay housing, utilities etc. and the only thing I get extra is free schooling for my girls...We don't need to live in the city center or anywhere expensive but I want somewhere safe, convenient and with modern amenities...

Any other advice or tips are welcomed...
#Praful on Feb 14, 2014 :
Yes its true... the local government salaries are less then the cheapest apartment available in the city :)...

as a person from Azerbaijan, I can tell you, it is possible, the salary lower than the rent. as teacher's salary is 240 AZN, rent in the city center for 1 bedroom apartment is higher than 500 azn. in outside of the city rent is 300 azn. mortgage is 8% and if you are a teacher, you should pay for 25 years monthly 400 azn for mortgage, and prepay for 40% of the cost of the house

my name is monsuru from nigeria i will like to come to azerbaijan for like 2mouth pleas huu can give me full infomasion on it
thanks
#JR on May 10, 2012 :
Janka, that is because most people don't rent but own a property (most of which were privatized apartments left over from the Soviet times). New generations of people who did not inherit a property are in trouble. I don't think this trend is sustainable for a long period of time.
#Mladen on Apr 05, 2012 :
Janka, when economy is screwed up, people cannot live from their salary. I'm not sure how's the thing in Baku, would like to get more reportees for Baku.
#Janka on Apr 05, 2012 :
