CR has changed a lot in recent years. The road infrastructure is not enough for the large number of vehicles on the streets. Every year many new vehicles arrive, and dealers and banks offer very affordable financing, so most of them get into debt by acquiring a vehicle instead of using public transport. The average hatchback/sedan vehicle can be around $22k. The public transport service is very poor, the bus fleet dates back to 2009, and they are not comfortable. Taxis have considerably lowered their service due to the entry of apps such as Uber, Didi, InDrive. Real estate access is extremely expensive, apartments in tower building in the center or surroundings can cost $200k(2 bdrs), and a house in the "suburbs" can be worth on average $110k(3 bdrs). Private sector salaries can start from $600 p/month as a dependent/warehouse, etc. Being bilingual and work on an international company such as Amazon, WU, Sykes, etc. can increase your salary entry base starting at $1,000.00 p/month. Expending in outside food, such as fancy restaurants, 3-4 stars can cost +$60.00 p/2 pp. Fuel cost vary every month. Insecurity is high, lot of road rage and criminality is affecting security in multiple places. Health service by CCSS is deficient, Private service is expensive and if you get an incapacity you must present to CCSS so you'll end in the same.

Besides the capital San Jose all/most other cities/towns look like townships in U.S.A. (,as of up to now at least.)
It's not even too safe or low cost enough, yet some fools love it there or at least until after some months,
probably bcoz they used to live in worse places. enjoy.

Costa Ricais nothing more than an expensive country full of corruption.Several friends from Europe retired in Costa Rica. They were telling me I need to retire in Costa Rica too but I never listened to them. I visited Costa Rica twice but I didn't see anything impressive about the country.Anyone planning on moving to Costa Rica shouldn't do it.

The post on April 30

Costa Rica government allowed many in from Nicaragua, Honduras, and El Salvador. The idiot is obviously not from Costa Rica or they would know all central American countries are in close proximity plus Nicaragua is infected with MS13 always have been. I lived in Costa Rica as a foreigner until August 2020 in a nice house I personally owned.Oh the Costa Rica government insists all currencies be converted into colon so they can manipulate ie skim to their advantage.DONT EVEN TELL ME COSTA RICA ISN'T FLOODED WITH MS13 the door was wide open for anyone to walk through minus correct vetting. Two foreigners were hacked to death by machetes in their house across the street from me. Shut up you piece of garbage.
