Prices are outdated. Most of the things mentioned are lower than they are now.
Ammer on Apr 27, 2023:
During the last months prices were effected by inflation of100% at least. Therefore all costs should be revised and recalled again for accuracy.
Amal on Apr 13, 2023:

I've visited many parts of Egypt over the years as an American. I've never had any problems at all with Egyptians. But I've visited every single country on the planet over the years, but I've never gone as a tourist but instead to experience Egyptian culture.

In my travels I've noticed Americans, Australians, and British men are normally rude globally. Leave your attitudes and bragging in your countries. It's not welcome in any country. If you refuse to be civil and understanding just don't visit any countries.

I have created a new city in the dropdown called New Cairo instead of Cairo. If anyone stays in New Cairo, do help provide inputs for future expats coming
Ian on Jul 18, 2022:
Most expats nowadays stays in New Cairo. To say Cairo is a very big mistake as the price can range widely. I am sure there is no new expats would like to stay in Nasr City. It would be far from the business center

internet speed in most of Egypt doesn't reach more than 30MBPs at best and it is limited.
A M on Mar 11, 2022:
I think the avg. salary is too low. For the majority of people (living in Cairo) it has to be at least 6k+
Sherif Mohamed on Dec 19, 2021:
The prices are very exaggerated, such as water and meals, and the prices of apartments are average and good
Mia on Oct 24, 2021:

Such comments don’t realize

There are minimum for family or person survived . This is depend on how much country imports need basic for survived . We know Egypt depends on imports for basic need . So there are basic for survived & for comfort . In numbeo research based on comfort for person & family not for survived . Thank you
Ahmed Salama on Mar 07, 2020:
5000 EGP is the average cost of living for a family of 4 persons in cairo
Jess jessie on Feb 12, 2020:
I don't agree with the rent. Especially in areas like Zamalek, if you're a foreigner, landlords will try their best to get a minimum of 800 USD for a single bedroom apartment and raise the rent the next year with 10 percent. Don't trust these statistics. It's actually more expensive than it's written.
