Crime in San Juan, Puerto Rico

There's a slight chance that you'll get mugged or attacked if you go out walking on random non-touristy streets, or any empty street at night. Use your own logic and don't go to any sketchy places. If you're a tourist visiting, stay on the most visited/active areas, use uber/taxis as your main transport method and you'll be fine. I've lived in puerto rico for many years and never had an issue!! It's like most places that you go, you'll be fine if you don't go anywhere weird ,and don't mess with the locals.

Puertoricans are often very polite and normal people. But sadly, not every local will be like that. Be aware of that.
