Kelownas crime rate is 10,532 per 100,000 people. It’s one of the most dangerous cities in Canada.

To Anonymous on Mar 06 2023. Crimes here in Kelowna this year include one bomb threat on Highway 97, one in the court of law, one attempted murder using a knife at the mall bus stop, and at least 5 other murders that I know of.

Kelowna’s crime rate is 89 per 100,000 whereas in my city in Europe where I originally came from it was 127 per 100,000. To me Kelowna feels pretty safe and I feel like these numbers are heavily exaggerated, the only issue I think Kelowna has is drug use at night.

I just went to kelowna for the first time for family day long weekend. I took my wife and two kids and we rented a hotel right in downtown for 2 nights. I saw a bunch of junkies, rough people drug addicts and on the last night we were there one random guy who looked pretty normal verbally attacked me while I passed thru him with my family having ice cream, the reason he attacked me was because I used glasses and was wearing sandals! I just ignored him and left the place. What if he was armed just waiting for me to say something? These things made me realize I don’t need kelowna in my life. Sad, cuz I liked the mountain views, but there’s something off in that little city. I wouldn’t advise you going there.

I’m the last 10 years, I’ve seen the degradation of this wonderful place! B&E’s are a constant everywhere throughout the city. The conversations were about how great it was to live here! Now, crime and the bums and addicts permeating the city is what is talked about! I don’t know if anyone actually owns the original bike they purchased!! Our federal police force is too small to deal with all the crime . We obviously need more cops. Like many communities across Canada, we have a large homeless issue. Many are actual homeless, but a good portion are simply thieves and thugs, who are released the same day to continue their spree! Our justice system is broken and cannot deal with the abundance of crime here and everywhere in this province!

The crime in Kelowna has gotten worse month by month. About 3 maybe 4 days of the week I get shouted at from cars while I walk on the sidewalk and mind my own business. Also, random people insult me as I walk past and I almost got mugged two weeks ago. Drugs are also a huge circling problem here. My advice to those wanting to move to Kelowna, please don't.

The thieves Kelowna are well aware that Rcmp don't bother with property thiefs or auto thief.They are free to keep stealing our property. Thiefs breaking to our secure parkade often. What's to stop them when the police don't care. In the Mission area we are trying to catch them ourselves. No choice.
