A reliable website for current Zimbabwe grocery prices might be www.zimart.co.zw. They have a huge list of grocery items on sale. The website if fairly popular on Google suggesting that it has a decent amount of web traffic and that therefore it serves a significant number of grocery shoppers in Zimbabwe.

At a glance it appears prices stated in this article are a bit inflated. For example, I looked up the price of 1kg of oranges on ZiMart and found that it is $1.10 but in the article above, it is stated as $2.70. 1kg of Rice on ZiMart is only $0.89 but it is stated as $2.10 here which is completely misleading.

Hope that helps

Hi,

The pricing list on most items for the Harare is overstated. I will collect real prices on some items which I do not know offhand then submit them to you. Zimbabwe has become one of the cheapest cities, in terms of cost of living ever since the introduction of the multi-currency regime in February 2009.The only problem is high unemployment rate which came about as a result of closure of many companies.

Most citizens have either migrated, ventured into the informal sector or unemployed.

I hope this information will be usefull.

Regards

completely unreliable. zimb's gdp is roughly $586, how ever did it balloon to 500 per month per person?
