Hello, you mentioned that Apartment (1 bedroom) in City Centre is around 1,881.82 $ and Apartment (1 bedroom) Outside of Centre is around 1,392.62 $. I'm just wondering where can you find the information and it's private place or you need to share it with others based on this price?

Thanks!

What isn't apparent in these figures is that the after tax income doesn't include money for retirement, health care, disability insurance, etc. The actual income after that is more likely around $2,600-$3,000. With the costs described above you will not have a net gain year after year but will be living paycheck to paycheck.

$1680 for a one bedroom north of Boston, N. Reading. You can get cheaper but it will not be nice(no daylight because blinds will need to be down 24/7 for privacy) or spacious and you'll most likely need to live with someone else.

The rent figures are outdated... Add about 30%... They have increased dramatically since 2009...

I am moving to Boston from Sydney Australia. i have no idea about the different areas of Boston. I will be working in the city and am looking at renting a 2 bedroom apartment. I dont think I will be able to afford to live in central Boston. Could anyone suggest areas that have good public transport to the city and economical to live in.
thanks
Mitch

About the tennis courts: There are many public tennis courts in Boston and Boston area who free access or that charge a very low yearly fee for the permit.

About fitness clubs: there are plenty of fitness clubs in the $10-20 dollar range. They are much simpler, but still provide equipment/tradmill/weightlifting rooms, etc. The $50-100 range also exists, but would be the higher end of clubs.

I live in Marlborough (30 miles or 55 kilometers west of Boston). I do not use the public transportation althought the area only has emybronical form of public transportation (small bus). It's called MetroWest Regional Transporation (MWRTA). It cost $1.50 (regular adult) or $1.10 (CharlieCard®). It'll doubled if I going to MBTA Commuter Rail station. You also can wave the flag to bus to pick you up! Thanks for reading this information!
