finland is not all sunshine and roses, not by a long shot, but you will find that out if you stay longer. undercurrent of depression, social apathy, the single mothers living below poverty line whose children in most cases become junkies or alcoholics and die young. I recommend the documentary film "Reindeerspotting" if one wants to see that side of this nation.
#Ger Roche on Feb 13, 2012 :
I have been to Oulo and found the cost of living cheaper than Ireland. Ireland is a dump. High prices depressed people. Unemployment is rife among the many emigrants who now live here on social welfare. Ireland was known as the land of saints and scholars, now it should be called the land of thieves and parasites. Finland is way ahead cheaper living, nice people, amazing scenery and most importantly the visitor is made feel welcome. Give Ireland back to the british and apologise for the condition it's in.
