If your yearly salary doesnt pass 200,000 dollars pair year then dont think of coming to luanda .
#Paulo on Nov 01, 2014 :
Hey johson, earning 100k a year should not at least be that bad for you to manage your survival here in Angola,Luanda, although note the kind of house or apartment well structured and located in a safe area with all the standard details which a normal accommodation must have here can cost you your whole salary per year, unless you risk to live in suburb where you can find some improvised house for not less than 700 USD,with no water tank neither a generator, which is highly needed here where electricity and water shortage is common. But you still can find some good house(house cause when I talk about apartment it means you spending all of your salary on it )in some safe areas near the down-town,Like for example Ilha de Luanda,Luanda Island in English, for a good and reasonable price, between 1,000.00 and 5, contrary you would have to pay around 10,000.00 for a reasonable apartment in down-town,and remind yourself always, here you got pay 1 year upfront dude, which means before you get to enter the apartment you were meant to pay,in this case costing 10,000.00 monthly,120,000.00 USD,which is almost your annual salary Lol..see?
i myself work as Real-State broker based in lUANDA thats why I speak here with confidence about

Don't forget that most multinational firms who are the main employers put forth the rent on behalf of their employees especially expats as part of their pay so they're not actually paying directly from their salaries.

#RED on Feb 01, 2013 :
Angola is Oil Rich, but extremely corrupt. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the prices had a significant tax on it. The Daughter of the President of Angola is the richest woman in Africa.
Now do the maths.
#ian on Jan 27, 2013 :
Sounds like its wealth division. Very expensive but high pay for some. However, everyone else is in poverty. Thus, only median values make sense. I am guessing per capita income is based on the mean, which most people will never achieve.

I want to know the price of computers and their accessories in Luanda. Any help please
#Anonymous on Dec 03, 2012 :
Luanda is full of contradictions. Oil rich country. However, real salary for most workers is much below 3750$.
#Smith on Dec 02, 2012 :
Median Monthly Salary 3,750.00 $ ???
Wikipedia says that YEARLY GDP per capita is $5,894 and CIA word factbook $5,900.
And rent per month is higher than in Switzerland?

I don't get it.
