For example, the price of a bottle of mineral water in Iran is 2000 Tomans, which is about 4 cents. But you specified $0.82!

Specifically for food, accommodation, health-care and transportation.

this data is related to exchange rates (USD to IRR) and this rate is very volatile so data on this site is not exactly true. in addition iran has a high inflation (15% to 35%) and data is collected in a wide range of time. so very soon data becomes out of date.

Hey mahdi. I am a real estate agent selling Homes in bukan and niavaran. Housing market is definitely slow but you won’t find apartments under 30 billion toman (1 million dollars in the area I sell. Last week I sold a 400m2 (4300 ft2) apartment 5th floor mid-luxury in bukan for 76 billion (2.45 million us dollars) which is $6,125 per sqm. Recently prices have raised twice the rate dollar has rised. I am not saying prices here are 100% accurate but are pretty close. Restaurants prices really vary. Clothes and cars are definitely more expensive than in the usa. Rent and utility are definitely cheaper but are going up rapidly. Gas is currently 10 cents a liter or 38 cents a gallon but hopefully it doesn’t go up like everything else is. Hope I cleared some air.

Some people saying in the comments Tehran is very cheap have clearly not lived in Tehran. Tehran is somewhat cheap for an average tourist, but living and working in Tehran would be expensive as automobiles and real estate are very expensive are comparable with Europe and North America. For example, a 2017 Series 7 BMW is around $60K in USA but would be around $200K in Tehran.

these prices are not correct. For example price of 1kg meet is about 8$ or price of 1kg rice is about 1.5$. Nowadays equivalent rate for usd against Iranian rial is 250000

Most of the prices are far from real. The average expense for a single person without rent is less than $100. Rent would be the same rate. I have lived in other countries as well. Iran is one of the cheapest where you can find luxury as well. The only issue is economic instability.

Free dollar rate in Iran is 1$ = 300,000 IR - yes you saw it well 300,000 IRR - the cheapest/weakest currency in the world. Even was-torn countries like Afghanistan and Syria have a stronger currency.

As the currency is still falling, I think that even dividing all prices listed here would not be enough, but it will be a good start for us to update more easily.
