Cost of Living in Luanda

Hello guys...
I would like to have some guidance for my interest to come as investor to angola in the tourism/entertainment sector.

I own a TV production house and events company in Qatar...
In addition to 2 nightclubs...
1- X Lounge ... 2000 seats outdoor Hip hop club
2- Grand Mandaloun ... 750 seats luxurious Arabic club

Planing to come to Luanda to open an affordable luxury indoor nightclub
And an outdoor beach bar with outdoor nightclub facility on the beach

I need some help and guidance from someone who knows the country...
Grankly i only heard about angola from investors here in Qatar and thought of your suuport if possible.

There is no McD´s in Luanda.
Should be removed from the comparison.

Angola is the craziest city in the world, and it's a very awful place to live.

The prices are higher than in Switzerland with purely 3rd world salaries. Only company owners, high grade govern employers and important people can live in the centre.

Prices are as high as those ones near Central Park in Manhattan while the average salary is not even 1000$ in the city center. Because most of the people are cleaners, barmans, etc etc normal workers with low salaries.

The city is always full of traffic on daylight because all of those workers must drive or get a public transport to Luanda from their towns or small cities. The prices of eating in a restaurant are also ridiculous, I've eaten in Spain , France or Italy with the half or even a third of the price that it costs a normal meal on an average restaurant in Luanda. No joke. I don't know WTF is in the mind of the people who put there the rental prices, the sell prices, the food prices, etc.

While on 90% of Luanda you eat and rent as low as in any other southern african country, but also the salaries are like 200$ per month... still not far from Luanda, as I've said before (and other people said) a normal unqualified worker gets 300 per month while the renting of an appartment in Luanda is 1000$ per month... crazy huh?

Rathna, look up the price it is already up there. I lived for a year in 2005 and I hate it. Like they say it is the infrastructure which is the big problem. DO NOT EXPECT TO SEE MANY HIGH RISE BUILDINGS.

This doesn't look right at all. How can Luanda be more expensive than San Francisco??
