We moved from San-Francisco to Dallas. Big mistake. After 3 months we left, feeling unsafe and very dissappointed.

We now live in Europe (Spain) and couldn't be happier.

Currently visiting family, but we can't wait to be back in our nice vibrant sunny (and safe!) house in Alicante.

Dallas suburbs are great for people interested in a spaced city type. Weather is mainly hot with long summers. You will need a car in good condition and be ready for a flat area. Traffic is not terrible but travel distances can be long. I have been here for 30+ years and it is home for me. I have traveled the world and personally I can't find a better place for me.

HIGHLY recommend Las Colinas - North Irving - as the best place in DFW to live. Almost all commutes are Against traffic - and can find affordable beautiful neighborhoods where one can get to 3 different freeways in less than 5 minutes.

Hey Anonymous.
You could make it in Dallas, but go just 30 miles South from Red Oak to Waxahachie & you will do much better.
