Prices really depend upon which countries you're from outside of Africa whether you're at a regular supermarket or an open market. We visited Algiers September 2019 on our 20th wedding anniversary.Overall food is tainted except for produce.Beggars and scammers everywhere in the capital nonetheless. But we've seen it in London where we live too.As europeans we keep an open mind and are always hesitant not to judge anyone. However after spending 3 weeks in Algiers we were more than ready to return to London.Save your time and money Algeria isn't really worth visiting.

Cheers
