the corrupt fails and f-a-i-l-s absolutely in times of crisis .Do you know that almost all the lakes in UK are pure and clean that one could scoop and drink the water directly. Now compare it with Mumbai/Banglore and other cities. politicians easily blame the Indian citizen for lack of civic sense. The same Indian, lands in singaprre airport or dubai airport and becomes a different persons in a fraction of second.and the reason is obvious. Dirt Invites More dirt. in other countries govt has managed to keep it clean and fallows up with the citizens to maintain through penalty etc. but here in India the corrupt does not care and the corrupt fails and fails absolutely in times of crisis Bombay is one such example.

Well i myself live in lahore... despite of some bad places which every city has, there r some places. Where one can breath nicely. Like the Defence Housing Authority and Baharia Town..... DHA has covered now 50% of lahore... i.e. 50% lahore is good.... hopefully in next 10-15 yrs it will cover the remaining 50% and then lahore will become a good and better place to live in.... but non civic habits of people hv let us down.....

this fu*k government nothing going to do so they are sleeping we should take some peculiar step to awake them their is one thought prevention is better than cause so they don't know the inner meaning of that ....so we should explain them the governments:)

Hai friends we all r telling that pollution is high or it is increasing but no one is thinking of how to control that. It should come from self. No teacher will tell or no minister will tell u to control the pollution. From our side we have to do some thing. Minimum we can do is to decrease the use of our bike or car. Try to plant some trees. Stop using vehicle for short distance. Use cycle or walk. It is good for health also. I know that no one likes this and every one is interested in moving fast. By that we r increasing pollution only. nothing more than that. If our city is not polluted let us try to maintain that, if it is polluted let us try to decrease that. Dont think one cannot do any thing. 1+1+1+1+1+1+....will become many ple try friends. Jaihind

I feel in the entire Mumbai area, Borivali west (LIC Colony), Goregaon east (Aarey colony) has a good air quality. Thanks to the lush green cover.

People who say things like "i've been living here since 23 years; i dont find any problem with it" need to get out of their houses and travel around a bit. The same pillar-to-post makes you no expert to judge the cleanliness of an entire city. Go to any railway station and see people doing the spit marathon. Walk on a skywalk and see the food people drop carelessly. See the garlands people throw into Bandra creek/Juhu beach just to satisfy their piety. See how conveniently people throw wrappers outside of a running car/bus. See any roadside vendor who has an overflowing dustbin. If you stay long enough you'll see him throw it in some corner. And why not, all our public dustbins are overflowing or bottomless. Travelling to and fro between your college/office and home with the headphones on and eyes glued to the screen will not help you know better.

@utsav: I think you have hardly lived in any other metro, specially talking about NYC? are you kidding me? wake up dude!! Doctors advise you not to go for a morning run but walk due to high carbon content!! Like check out what Beijing and NYC feels like in terms of air quality.
#Utsav on Sep 29, 2013 :
I dont think so....the air quality is not that bad..Compare it with any international city..be it beijing or NYC..its better than them..some amount of pollution is bound to b there in a huge metropolis..And quality of water is good too.i've been living here since 23 years. And i dont find any problem with it.Though I have problem with the roads and infrastructure of this city. And also overpopulation. But still quite comfortable and free compared to other cities.
#kevin on Jul 04, 2013 :
