LOL ONLY 200 CONTRIBUTORS AND YOU THINK THAT DAVAO IS ALREADY ONE OF THE SAFEST IN THE WORLD? LOL STUPID PEOPLE!
##numbeo.com_admin1 on May 21, 2015 :
I know its the safest but there will be a possible problem in the future
1st Problem : BBL (Bangsamoro Basic Law)

I dont know if the BBL will affect Davao Region and Davao City because i think that BBL wont make peace and bring more wars and bring other terrorists to attack davao provinces and the region maybe it will bring peace but we are not sure

#Anonymous on May 10, 2015 :
Without a doubt davao is the only safest city in the Philippines that's how Mayor Rodi Trained he's Companion. Good to hear that Mayor Rodi.
#alex roldan on May 05, 2015 :
There's no place like davao. The speed limit was annoying at first, but later i realized its wisdom. I am driving everyday 80 kms to my work and can attest that vehicular accidents has reduced significantly. I can go home late without worries. Davao is the best place i have ever been.
##toto gid ni ya on Apr 26, 2015 :
The crime rate in Manila is way too high compared to Davao City. In order to help address this issue, we need leadership like that of Davao City (Duterte Brand), a quality brand in addressing crimes of all sorts.

If the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) will be passed, it will benefit not only benefit the Bangsamoro community, but Davao City as well. Muslims and the New Peoples' Army (NPA) have high respect with our Mayor. They all have common understanding about peace, security and prosperity.

However, of late, it is sad to hear, that some foreigners are doing crimes in Davao City (.e.g a foreign national kidnapping their own countrymen, another foreigner caught engaging in child pornography and child abuse, etc.). Tsk, tsp, tsp whew!
#Anonymous on Mar 10, 2015 :
Davao is the safest place in the Philippines, why? Because our Mayor himself takes part in keeping our city safe. He drives a taxi at night to catch criminals and you get a free ride if you manage to stumble upon him. He bans smoking, personally deals with drug smugglers, personally went to the parents of two kids who were reported to be sleeping on the streets, gives free food to all the homeless each week so that they won't have to commit crime to survive. He has done so many things that made the once very dangerous Davao City into the safest city in Philippines within the span or 20 or so years. And unlike other politicians *cough* *cough* mayors *cough* who simply avoid the punishment of the laws they have broken, which themselves established in their own city, Mayor Duterte accepted his punishment (no helmet while riding a motorcycle I think) and went to the seminar which was the punishment of his said crime. Think your mayor can beat that???

Was in Davao for business. Was staying at the Apo View Hotel. I'm a tall blonde haired American female... As someone that travels I wasn't hesitant to walk the streets -- I really have no fear and enjoy getting to know local places. (Plus I needed some hairspray!) I did get a lot of funny looks when on the road, but was also able to run up to the local shop to buy what I needed. What THRILLED me the most was the traffic and how people drive there! CRAZYYYYY! That said, I went for a couple of scuba dives, too. Overall -- it was a nice experience!
#Oziee on Jan 07, 2015 :
Davao is the safest place in Philippines for me. Very clean and you can walk night and day without worries. And Oh! Before I forgot It's the only city in Philippines with emergency hotline called " Central 911" an American version. It operates 24/7, just dial 911 for Police, Fire, Medical and Rescue assistance. I am amazed how safe this city is, considering it's the center of Mindanao. And the Davao women speaks a lot better English too, and seems to me they're more educated and well mannered. Well done Davao City!

For 14 years i have lived in Davao city, in prosperity and safety. I call the city the Renaissance of the Philippines because of the Flourishing culture, architectural, religious, and governmental advances. As i compare to Florence it was once the glory of the renaissance in contrast as same as of Davao. It was led by Lorenzo Medicci ( family ) and as same as of Davao ( Rodrigo Duterte ) ( family ), this later on evolved. As Davao rose from its former title ( The murder capital of the Philippines ) to The Safest city of the philippines and my title for it as well The Renaissance of the Philippines. Business also flourishes in the cities glory, as of new malls and companies investing, this city has also a strategic location far from the pacific and typhoonless climate, lush suburban and countrysides, Resources are abundant, electricity and water are fluent. but it stands in the shadow of mt. Apo a dormant volcano that could later on turn Davao into Pompeii.

I don't live in Davao. As of today Davao is one of the safest city in the world and is currently ranked 4th. There are lots of sources to prove this, even the news, websites and some magazines. I do know that people will go and make bad comments or don't accept this fact because of various reasons. Some doesn't like Philippines and all in it. Some do not like the residents. Some wants to justify their own place. Many would probably go and dig up some of the bad things about it for this very reasons, some would even make stuff up or create false articles on the web. They all think they're anonymous so it's okay to do all this. Think again.

For good people, Davao is where life is; for bad, it's where your life ends.
#Anonymous on Sep 09, 2014 :
Safest city? What a joke! Only 111 people voted. Your city is not safe, your province is not safe, your country is not safe!
#justine abalos on Aug 11, 2014 :
To #dabaw it said safest not perfect. So there is crimes still but not many compared to other cities...it is safe indeed in davao for those good people but not safe to criminals!what city u came from? Is ur city as safe as davao city?
#Na'eem on Jul 23, 2014 :
I was in Davao city in 2012. I was very surprise how clean the city was. I was told by a man from Davao city that I met at the airport about how safe it was so I visited there and he was abosutely correct. I will visit there again. It was a GREAT EXPERIENCE with the taxi drivers. They are very respectful and honest.
CONGRATULATION DAVAO CITY !!!

I lived in Cebu and Manila for many years and I am so happy to be coming home after 11 years. There's no place like Davao.
#Nicholas Clarke on Apr 27, 2014 :
I have lived in davao for the last two years and I love it.
It is the safest place in the whole of the Philippines and also is
Safer than a lot of cities around the world.
The Mayor of davao is absolutely the best at the job and the people love him.
#marcel on Apr 05, 2014 :
MY wife is from DAvao and we live 6 months in the year there. ITs the best place in the Phils...Mayor Rodi is the King there and this means if your a criminal dont go to Davao you end up with a bullet somewhere outside in the jungle. The mayor has no doubts to let any hardcore criminal kill. Is that good ? Yes i think it is good...because u have to fight fire with fire and not with united nations blablalba bullshit. Everyone who is friendly peacefull is in Davao more as welcome , the people there are cool ( the most ) ..a Minus has the city too...I like Duterte but let you not caught to smoke a cigarette outside the smokeing areas, You cant make party and drinking after 11pm. But for all guys who want to make party, just go with a boat to samal island its 5 min away from davao city and there you can do all what you want. Davao is a nice place
#myrna may on Mar 26, 2014 :
i must say davao is safe and liveable in all part of the phils. i just visit here first time but i planning to move here instead of manila. davao is like manila where u can find everything in the city but not crowded and not polluted im planning to buy a place here
#jun ledesma on Mar 14, 2014 :
There is absolutely no doubt davao city is the safest and most livable city in the Philippines. Foreigners are welcomed and we have no distinction between local residents and them. Its actually the other way around. foreign nationals hobnob among themselves and attitude I think they bring to other countries or cities like ours. The city observes smoking ban in public places, ban on pyrotechnics during yuletide or chinese new year, imposes speed limit. Drug trafficking or use of illegal drugs is an absolute nono. people behind drug and kidnap for ransom syndicates are quickly neutralized. Davao City is the growth center south of the philippines. It is the least expensive city in the country. Davao City water is considered the worlds second best. The city has more than enough energy and water provisions and has sufficient standby resources to address future expansion and development. The city leadership led by incumbent mayor Rodrigo Duterte is known for its adherence to law and order.

US Embassy cites 'credible' security threats in Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines - The US Embassy on Thursday alerted American nationals of a "series of credible security threats" identified in some parts of southern Mindanao.

In its emergency message to US citizens, the Embassy said threats have been monitored in the Davao region, North and South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and Maguindanao.

"Individuals associated with known extremist and insurgent groups are believed to have been conducting surveillance on a number of public locations in these areas, as possible targets of interest," the US Embassy said.

It has placed restrictions on all US government travel to high-profile sporting events, residential areas, business offices, hotels, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, schools, public areas, and other destinations, as extremists may target these areas.

"The Embassy advises all U.S. citizens residing in southern Mindanao to exercise extreme caution and re-evaluate their personal safety situation. The Embassy strongly reiterates its recommendation that U.S. citizens exercise extreme caution when travelling to Mindanao and keep personal safety and security in mind during any stay in Mindanao," it said

My dear DAVAO you have never fail to impress me every single day.
You really don't have idea how I am proud, born & raised as a truly blooded Davaowenyo.Eventhough I have been longing for you for quiet 5 & half years now but deep inside I know and you know that my love will always belongs to you.The moment that I left Davao since 2004 to seek for a greener pasture I was so emotional, worried and definitely sad but I know one day we will be together. One thing that's for sure I left my heart in DAVAO.
I miss you, Wo shang ni, Tu me manque, Miss na kita,Namomoot ako sa imo,Nahidlaw ko gid sa imo yah, Mailiw ak kanyam, Gimingaw nako sa imo my dear DAVAO.Mga ate og kuya English english pud ta ginagmay pag may time ... jejejeje

Safest city I've ever visited and lived!
#RULz RN MAN on Aug 11, 2013 :
Indeed DAVAO City is a safe place... You can walk on the streets as early as 3 am with peace on every corner and not to worry about.. Thanks to the Dutertes for making davao a livable city.. LIFE is here in DAVAO CITY.. KUDOS mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte... SHUKRAN..
#Ofelia Sale on Aug 10, 2013 :
Perfect tandem of Mayor Rudy Duterte and Chief Ronald Dela Rosa. Two thumbs up for both.
#Dennis on Aug 10, 2013 :
Davao is indeed a very safe and very peaceful city. There is no discrimination. Most people abides the law. Taxi driver are trust worthy, even give you a change up to the last cents, and sometimes you get a discount if they have no change, the very opposite when you are in manila or cebu. The place is very dangerous for the "CRIMINALS", absolutely dangerous for them. If you bad things in Davao, you will either leave the city "HORIZONTALLY" or "VERTICALLY". DAVAO - "life is here for good people" and "life ends here for the criminals"..
#Bemar Paltingca on Aug 09, 2013 :
davao city is indeed "life is here". the peacefulness you can compare it to the past administration in davao and only mayor duterte can handle the tough and serious job. also with the progress in living, you can see it when you come to davao. there is no hometown like davao city. it wont worry me if i cant go to manila or cebu.
#Noel Dacara on Jun 22, 2013 :
Although I can definitely say that Davao is safe for everyone, but that doesn't mean that it is always safe here. Yes there are still cases of robbery, petty crimes, and more but compared too all other major cities in the country...Davao City is way too peaceful and liveable than any of them. No place in the world can guarantee safety of everyone all the time! Davao City is not perfect, but I can proudly say that it is the best in so many ways.
#Anaheim Fred on Nov 12, 2012 :
Davao is the jewel of the south.
The city has flourished despite the long odds.
Thanks to Rudy Duterte.
The city is clean and relatively safe.
The people have no attitude towards foreigners or Pinoys from other regions.
#PRUNIER on Mar 10, 2012 :
I agree with Eddie Reynoza. Comparing Davao in Paris and its suburbs, Marseille and Grenoble (France), I feel much safer in Davao.
The website “diplomatie.gouv.fr” presents a very false description in this region:
- YES, the Western Mindanao is dangerous (mainly because of kidnappings and bombings)
- No, absolutely not, nor is the region for the Davao region.
- YES, there was a lot of murder at one time in the Davao region, but it was the physical elimination of crooks! An example for the neighborhood of lawlessness of many French cities!
#eddie reynoza on Jan 09, 2012 :
Davao safety only, this city is very very safe! the police and military have it well known
if you comit a serious crime you will be shot and killed. I have a home in davao and live in
los angeles, California. I travel much on business and vacation and never seen a crime its
much better then the past decade. Coto bato is a different story very dangerous but thats very
far away I actually feel more safe in Davao then in Los Angeles and im not even filipino im spanish
latin mix with a fair color. The Davao people are very kind and everyone speaks english.
