I recently visited Nuremburg for 1 week and was surprised at how much it has changed in the last 10 years since I was last there. I have lived in several large cities around the world and welcome diversity of cultures, however, not all cultures make a city better. In Nuremburg it is very obvious that the immigrants they have allowed to move in do not respect the city or the German people. I was very sad to see how the city has deteriorated. If it continues, there will be no resemblance of the wonderful Nuremburg I remember. Hopefully it's not too late.

Why are all commentators on numbeo so afraid of Arabs? Nürnberg is a very nice city and safe at day and night if you don't have panic attacks just by looking at migrants.

Safe city by world standards. Crime has increased in the last 10 years. Mostly low-educated people with migrant background commit crimes. Safety is decreasing every year due to leftist forces that are taking over Germany and "welcome culture". Police is very professional and there is little corruption. Lots of vandalism and graffiti damage. Very save by day and somewhat unsafe by night. There are no particulary dangerous zones in the city, just the area around the main station can be a bit sketchy after sunset. In general the safety situation is alright, albeit slowly worseing every year.

I have lived in and worked in many large cities - London, Sao Paulo, Hamburg, Cologne, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Moscow etc. So looking at Nuremberg with an international viewpoint it is big enough to be a city with all the benefits but small enough to feel quite safe. It ist ethnic diverse, suprisingly mutlicultural for such a city of only 500.000 people. Nuremberg is the second largest city in Bavaria and as such does have its poorer areas, which often attrac people with similar social and cultural backgrounds. Compared to any larger city, this is no big deal and can be avoided if one is really concerned about meeting "other" cultures. If you want to meet only other Germany and eat only Bratwurst and Sauerkraut - this is the wrong place for you. If you like a cultural diverse city, with its challenges and oppertunities, this is relaxe place with lots to do.
