"There must have been a reason for that." of the previous poster rearding vouchers for woman to take cabs.

Sure, its percieved danger, instead of arguing against people with their lived experience (tm) or other feeling insecure its muhc mre tactful and easier to set aside a small amount to help those to get home safely and make them feel safer, Statistics reveal that while the dangers are always there, its not one which should be worried about.

This city is in transition regarding everything, crime rate and safety therein included. Regarding the latter, the local govt has now started off handing out vouchers for women to take the taxi at night instead of using public transport. There must have been a reason for that.

I have been living in Munich for 2 years by now, and I hate many aspects of living here, especially as a foreigner. But even I can say that I feel very safe here.

I am from Toronto, Canada, and have lived in Munich now for almost 10 years.

After I visited my homecountry or the US i'm always happy to feel safe in Munich again.

Just look at the safety ratings of the other german cities, to find out Munich is not much safer, if any at all.

Aside from Singapore, Munich is the city I've always felt safe in walking through the night. The area around the train station feels a bit sketchy, sure, but even there I don't believe you have much to worry over.

@Truesay Correction: Munich is a safe city, one of the safest in Europe.
Canada-Germany on Sep 06, 2021:
@Truesay It's EUROPE not Europa. (At least in English)

Why is everybody acting like Munich is a very safe city it’s not like everyone says I mean it’s safe but not very safe
Joey Fischer on May 24, 2021:
In an age where most of Europe's largest cities appear to be plagued by surging crime rates, Munich stands out as a safe haven. Walking around the city is rarely an issue. Some areas south of the central railway station and in the southeast are seedy, but you will not fear for your life.

Been tenere last year. Very chill place, maybe not so when close to the train station, but the city itself is great
