most seems about right, buses are a bit more then £2 a pop. Also salaries are surely way off if the range is 1.6k-1.9k/month what about all the people working in restaurants, call centres, sea life centre, the pier, basic construction and service workers all working for 6/7p.h that works out like £960 - 1120/month before tax and if you can get a 40 hr week which alot of people cant, many even on zero hours contracts. Even experienced care workers or semi-skilled construction workers are lucky to get 9-10p.h which is 1440/1600 before tax. So surely this is way skewed to make it seem like people have a lot more disposable income then they do.

Back in the 70s, as a foreign student, i was renting a small room up Ditchling Rise for just 5 pounds 50 pence per week.
Enjoyed my stay, its a student town, me studying at Brighton Tech College, , with everything you need, nite life was spectacular. Sloopy, Revolution, Bier Keller, Hungry Years, Queens (Jazz). Football at Preston park on a sunday makes life complete. Many great memories left behind, best times of my life. I remember Miss Peny from Havelock Road, she be like 52 today.

The groceries prices are a bit ridiculous here. Maybe if you shop at Waitrose and M&S but the vast majority of people shop at ASDA and Tesco.
