Jeddah Good Place to live

Remaining Things are acceptable
#khan on Jan 04, 2015 :
Dear All,
Cost of livihng is too high in Jeddah. The rental charges for 3BHK is 32-35000 Sr/Yr, 2BHK 26-28000/Yr. Now fooding will be around 2000/Month excluding Restourants outings. Electric bills a little bit cheap 75sr/month. So in my Opinion u should earn at least 8000 Sr/Month , to live in Jeddah (No savings). For fresh arrival jobers, Its better to ask the company to arrange house for them OR the company should pay the rent dircetly to the Landlord, not involving yourself. Othersiwse you have to share the apartment with another family & it will be a very bad Mess.

Please help me do my decision whether to accept the offer from jeddah.

I received an offer letter (Salary not yet decided).

Its my first to work in abroad especially in Saudi Arabia (Jeddah). I want to know how much is the price of apartment consider my budget per month an other related household expenses and daily meal ave if 3 meals a day?

The cost of transportation is that reasonable for a month budget?

Is the housing and transportation allowance a good deal?

Please help me decide.

Saudi companies are hiring qualified people from Pakistan at very low salaries, keeping them hand to mouth, taking undue advantage due to uncertainity in the country. They are worst than non-muslims employers.

comparing figures for Jeddah and Riyadh there seems to be a mistake or big discrepancy in the cost of living purchasing power or is Riyadh so much cheaper that Jeddah? I am about to job offer and can be located in either city, please comment on costs and living in each.
#Yousef on Jun 04, 2013 :
Hello everyone.... Ive lived in Jeddah all my life .... the prices here are mostly correct ... you can find cheap and expensive things everywhere in Jeddah. for example, you can rent an 2 bedroom apartment for less than 1000 SAR\month or more than 6000 SAR\month. Also, you can have a Shawirma for 2 SAR or for 30 SAR. You have options and its your call. Jeddah is the most liberal city in Saudi. People from Jeddah like to mind their own business, they don't care where are you from or what you believe. and by the way, you can do anything at your private home, I mean anyyyyyyything as long as no body complains.... peace
#Mako Rai on May 22, 2013 :
do you have cost of living comparative figures for the past 3 years (2010-2012)
#Dodie on Oct 31, 2012 :
PS. Set-up your currency to SAR first, you'll find that most prices here are applicable. If you personally do the shopping, you'll agree with me.
#Dodie on Oct 31, 2012 :
This website is helpful, good job. Most prices are accurate to the last decimal. I'm living at the city center of Jeddah, and found these prices applicable. Nice guide for daily budget since most prices stays the same for long period of time.

FYI. Saudi Arabia have no VAT/ Sales tax rate as in o%

BTW KSA have beer made of Malt which is non-alcoholic, which is, just right for everyone who misses the taste of beer but not the groggy feeling.
#anik on Oct 21, 2012 :
In Jeddah/Saudi Arebia, Alchohol, drugs and movies (all entertainment) are strictly prohibited.
#Reem on Oct 07, 2012 :
The beer there is without alcohol, only malt drink..
#Abdul on Aug 25, 2012 :
The prices are all understated, In Dammam for example a posh 3 Bedroom flat in a decent residential locality will cost about 1500-1800 USD, villas will be even more expensive, The prices stated in this index is 350 USD per month in city centre and 675 USD PM outside city centre,Which is totally incorrect..
#Faisal Shaif on Aug 18, 2012 :
Some of the questions posed are not too precise, such as what is the cost of 1Sq.M for an apartment in the city center; what type of building, ultra modern and smart buildinng or an old and delibtated one. Other questions petianing to the same topic concerning building outside the city center, where precisely and how far from the city center and what quality building are we talking about. All such differences have to be pointed out to arrive at a reasonably accurate estimate.Regards,
#Anonymous on Jun 23, 2012 :
Is not possible to purchase beer, wine or other type of alcohol.
Some services such are public transportation are not developed and I'm only doing reference to Taxi, where you have to negotiate the price without a counter. The prices give are my estimations but are more or less accurate.

As well you will be impressed by the price of petrol, but some advantage should have the people living in this country.
#Omar on May 08, 2012 :
What is the rent of small-size villas or duplex (4 bedrooms)in a good neighbourhood?
Is fish very expensive?
#Mladen on Apr 05, 2012 :
Good point. Doesn't work excellent for Saudi Arabia.
#andrew on Apr 04, 2012 :
Input: how can there be the cost of beer and imported beer in a country where Alcohol is banned?
