There is a lot of wrong info on this wall.
Short can be said, if you earn money or have money, Lithuania and especially Vilnius is very nice. If you dont have money, or earn money, life can be quite hard.
And if Chris tells, that he dont know anybody who earns less than 600 euro after taxes, he really do not know a lot of people. Minimum salery in Lithuania, before taxes, is 350 euro.
I know a lot of people who earn less than 600 euro, after taxes, which is actually not a bad salery, especially outside of Vilnius. If you have a good job, you will earn 1000 euro after taxes, if you are a wanted specialist you can earn much more. BUT in general saleries for "main stream jobs" are quite low. Thats why a lot of people have emigrated to Germany, Denmark, Norway, UK. Like people are telling, in Lithuania you can survive with not well paid job, in other countries you can not only survive, but also live.
Vilnius is a wonderfull city, and rapidly changing. Its quite safe here, much more safe than in a lot of other European countries.

well i am living in Oslo and heading for about 6 months living in City of Vilnius, last year i was for the first time there and i fall in love with the city so deep that i visited three other major cities by now(End of January 2016) the country very save, the people very nice and mostly well educated and the environmentally well developed.I was by now three times in Vilnius and also visited with a very good local friend other major cities like,Kaunas,Klaipeda, siauliai, and Panevezys.as said i am going to live in Vilnius for the next 6 months, but i do not understand where you got your informations you put here? the terms and conditions in the country changing rapidly and your infos are mostly useful just to orientation,Yes the salary has been raised on few Euros per month after tax to be exact but you pay three times more for the inflations of the money.Just like all other countries in Europe.I have to say i was there for few weeks last year and although my local friend was joining me for shopping and she mostly buy in discount shops but i never seen in any shops i could buy a coca cola 2.liter(as you mentioned here)due to your price list!!! please proof the reliability of your reports before you put it in public.I just asked for a example cost of living to compare between my city of residency and Vilnius,i can just laugh about how well you are informed!!!To avoid let you think i am just criticizing,i can offer you my shopping list and photo of the price etickets on the products which i will not buy and send it to you just to improve my comments and help you & others for clear informations.
Friendly Regards.

Around 30€ per person if you are not working (meaning the employer pays it) or not registered in Lithuanian Labour Exchange (Darbo birža), as they pay it for you if you a registered there as looking for a job.

You guys are crazy or what up there? I dont know anybody who gets less than 600 eur.after taxes.. And that money you earn if drive a cab or do some shit job.. The city is Great! A lot of fantastic People, buetiful girls, great restourants and pubs.. A lot of culture events, a lot of international People living here. Vilnius has one of the biggest old towns in europe. And one of the most buetiful! To rent one bedroom flat you will need about 400 eur. To buy one- 70-80 t.eur. Its much more safe to live here than in paris, barcelona or london... Get sober you two to there ;)

Disclaimer: this is my own experience, please do not take it as 100% sample - you may face different situations than I faced.

I have lived in Vilnius (year 2000-2002) and Lithuania used to be a very safe place, even I seemed to be the only foreigner there, after my recent visits to Vilnius things have changed. Life is much more expensive, salaries increased a little and prices increased a lot. Financially poor people but very friendly and helpful.

#Mudassar: In Vilnius, you may get maximum of 300 to 400 EUR after taxes, keep in mind the cost of living.

#Hedwig mockus noble: I would like to encourage you to visit and spend some time in Vilnius, go for living outside of Vilnius (direction Europos Parkas). My advice is to know some Lithuanian OR take some local guide for initial weeks, you may look for some Tandom partner student who could teach some Lithuanian in return would learn English.

Can someone please tell that what is the avarage wages os saales and account managers in Lithunia.Thank you
#Arvydas on Feb 07, 2015 :
WARNING! Since 2015 year Lithuania officially switched to EURO currency. People stil adapt to it, and we see in stores both prices, LTL and EUR. But i think in at least half of year everyone will forget LTL. So good to fix it here.

Hedwig, relax, and don't even think about Lithuania. Don't another stupid man from USA who also believes to follow parents way witch they was born. There in Lithuania everything is lower than standard: food, prices, salary, peoples etc. I from Lithuania, but when i got 18 years old I run away without looking back to this side. If you want broke your life and understanding about this go. Go and see what not fear things there happening. Don't forget to buy some guns and another protection from poor young guys who wants to borrow your phone for the call and don't give back your phone plus you will get visit in the hospital after that.
So keep calm and relax in Florida :)
