Hi, Im hoping to move to suva Fiji in next year to accept a job offer. My concern is whether I could balance the living cost against the earning. I will get around FJD 3000 per month. Can someone please tell me about cost of renting for 1(or 2) bedroom unit? and how about the utility bills and broadband cost? Please advise.
#Tricia on Nov 13, 2013 :
HI Leah,

I am interesting in speaking with you about living in Fiji can you kindly email me thnx much.
#Leah on Oct 06, 2013 :
Have lived, studied and worked in Suva for over 10 years. A pretty cheap place provided you know where to shop and great for families. Local markets are a great source of fresh fruit and vegetables, seafood, etc. Seasonal fruit and veggies are as cheap as a dollar a heap/bundle. Bus fare around the city centre and close suburbs is only $0.70 one way. An adult pass to the cinemas is a standard $7.50 regardless of whether it's a premiere or not. Two major shopping malls in the city open till around 9pm daily and offer great selection of takeouts for the whole family. For an average income family, renting in the city is not recommended in view of the sky high prices, better to rent in suburbs on the outskirts of the city such as Samabula, Vatuwaqa Nabua, etc as these locations are within the city boundaries and enjoy affordable rental price and reliable cheap transport options.
