The Gold Coast has had it's glory years .. it used to be a buzzing destination for tourists from inter-state and overseas, especially Japan.

Now it's a bit of a run down yesterday place .. lot's of dimwits everywhere and confidence tricksters .. so lookout..

Having said that, I still reckon it's a fun place to visit and have a holiday/vacation - it's laid back and crazy and sometimes dangerous
but to live there it's had it's peak and now is on the slippery slope downwards.

Would I want to live there?

If I had an ok job or my own business or retired I suppose it would be all right .. but it lacks the dynamics and wide variety
of cultures and things to do that Melbourne or Sydney offer.

Housing is reasonably cheap compared to the bigger cities (mostly because so many only work part time or not at all, or under the radar..).
